Coming in

  • What are your hours? +

    We open every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The easiest place to see today's hours is the top of our homepage — they change on holidays and we keep that one in sync. Call (626) 355-1508 if anything is unclear; Collette answers day or night.

  • What days is Happy Hour? +

    Friday and Saturday only, from 3 to 6 pm. Not Sunday through Thursday. Wine, cocktails, and a short bar menu at the counter or on the patio.

  • Where do I park? +

    Free street parking on Sierra Madre Blvd and Baldwin Ave. A public lot sits one block east behind the Kersting Court fountain. Evenings are usually easy; weekend brunch fills up around 10:30 am.

  • Is the patio dog-friendly? +

    Yes. Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the sidewalk patio with a bowl of water on request. Inside the café is food-service only.

  • Do you have a kids menu? +

    Yes — a short one. A ham-and-cheese crêpe, a butter-and-sugar crêpe, and a Nutella-banana crêpe, each with a juice or milk. Ask your server; it is not on the printed menu.

  • Is the café wheelchair accessible? +

    Yes. Street-level entry, a single wide doorway, and a fully accessible restroom. Patio seating is step-free. Let us know in advance and we will hold the closest table.

  • Can I walk in with a group? +

    Parties of up to six are usually fine as a walk-in on weekdays. For seven or more, or any weekend evening, please reserve — we seat better when we know you are coming.

  • How do I make a reservation? +

    Reserve on Yelp at https://www.yelp.com/reservations/monsieur-cr%C3%AApe-cafe-sierra-madre-3?source=yelp_biz. You will see real-time availability for every service. If your time is not showing, call us — we often have a table that is not on the grid.

  • How far in advance should I book? +

    Weekday lunch or dinner: same-day is usually fine. Friday and Saturday dinner and Sunday brunch: book two to three days ahead. Mother's Day, Valentine's Day, and Bastille Day: book two weeks out.

  • Can I book the whole café for a private event? +

    Yes. Buyouts are available most days outside of peak service. The catering page has more detail and a form that goes straight to our events inbox.

  • How do I cancel or change a reservation? +

    Use the confirmation email Yelp sends you, or call us at (626) 355-1508. We appreciate as much notice as you can give so we can release the table.

What is on the plate

  • Do you have a gluten-free crêpe? +

    Yes. Our buckwheat galette is naturally gluten-free and available as a swap on every savory crêpe. Dessert crêpes are traditional wheat; we do not currently offer a gluten-free sweet crêpe.

  • Are there vegan options? +

    Yes — the buckwheat galette with roasted vegetables, salade composée, ratatouille, and most soups. Ask your server; we are happy to adjust a dish to keep it plant-based.

  • How do you handle allergies? +

    Tell your server at the top of the meal and we will flag the ticket. We cook with butter, wheat, eggs, and dairy in a shared kitchen; we can accommodate most allergies but cannot guarantee a zero-trace environment.

  • Do you serve wine and cocktails? +

    Yes. A short, mostly French wine list, a rotating cocktail menu, and local beer on draft. Beverage service runs through dinner.

    Delivery runs through the usual third-party apps within a short radius of Sierra Madre. Our own catering team delivers platters and on-site crêpier setups for events — see the catering page.

Feeding a room

  • What kinds of catering do you do? +

    Three formats: drop-off platters (quiches, rolled crêpes, salades, baguette sandwiches), on-site crêpier service (a real chef and billig folding crêpes to order in front of your guests), and full private events or weddings. Details and a form at /catering.

  • How much notice do you need? +

    Two weeks is kind. One week is usually fine. Less than that — call us at (626) 355-1508 and we will try.

  • How far do you travel? +

    Greater Los Angeles and the San Gabriel Valley are our home turf. We regularly travel farther for the right event. Ask; we will quote travel honestly.

  • How do I get a catering quote? +

The café

  • Who is Collette? +

    Our 24/7 concierge. She answers the phone at three in the morning and knows hours, menu, availability, and whether the quiche is still warm. Call (626) 355-1508 anytime.

  • Why wisteria everywhere? +

    Sierra Madre is home to the world's largest blossoming plant — a 125-year-old wisteria vine — and to the annual Wistaria Festival. The café sits a short walk from the vine, and we build our hallway, our palette, and our website around it.
